From Hip Hop to Be Bop, Brazilian Samba to Caribbean Soca Music, the sounds of PanAshé Steelband have delighted audiences for over fifteen years. PanAshé was founded by Emily Lanxner (aka "Camomilla") in 1992, after returning home to Vermont from several years of immersion into the steeldrum culture of Trinidad. On the drum-kit and percussion, Linda Warnaar utilizes influences from many sources, including extended residencies in Cuba, and years of intensive study with a Haitian master-drummer. Completing the group, Lydia Mackey, Ruth Blackwell, and Laura Rappold are all skilled multi-instrumentalists, who bring a high level of artistic insight and enthusiasm to the group. Be prepared to shock out on the wide range of possibilities of this unique instrument!
