Here are some samples from the long-awaited first release of Emily Lanxner (AKA "Camomilla"), a project devoted to the diverse potential of the steeldrum. Camomilla hosts a spectacular arrray of musicians, styles, and instrumentation - ranging from cool jazz, spoken-word hip-hop, reggae dub, back to traditional steelband - with a little avante-garde chamber music (featuring Indian tabla drums) thrown in. The common denominator is the steeldrum, which weaves through each track in both subtle and outspoken tones.
