A skilled educator with over fifteen years of experience leading workshops and residencies, Emily Lanxner (AKA "Camomilla") offers the following educational resources for your school, camp, or educational program:

STEELBAND WORKSHOP
- Exploring the various instruments in the ensemble (from tenor pan to double-seconds, guitar-pon, and basses), we become more familiar with the sound and feel of each instrument. We will experiment with putting together a short ensemble arrangement.
ENSEMBLE DRUMMING - Creating polyrhythmic music with drums and percussion instruments. Depending on the length of the session, we can also explore the cultural background of the rhythms and instruments, and learn songs and chants to accompany.
RESIDENCIES - Opportunity for more in-depth exploration of cultural themes, as well as putting together a performance for school and community. Performance repertoire could include steelband, ensemble drumming, tamboo-bamboo, and Caribbean dance, songs, and games.
INDIVIDUALIZED TUTORIALS - Create your own program of study! With the internet as a resource, we can develop a program that will help you become a steeldrum player, and even start your own steelband. Independent study curriculum plans available for college credit.
